\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tFor me, Movement 2 was about noticing and mapping the line of the journey<\/span> that got me from Binda\u2019s initial provocation to my \u201cfinal\u201d response \u2014 \u201cfinal\u201d only in the sense that it was what I presented at our second cross. In fact, my anxiety over not having a completely finished and polished piece to present became the heart of this movement\u2019s spiral, and helped set some precedent for our Helices play. The invitation to present unfinished or unpolished work meant that we were really honoring, honing, and sharing process rather than product. I was so struck by Binda\u2019s drawings\/paintings of the \u201claugh blood cloud\u201d and the vampire comedian watering the audience with blood<\/a> \u2014 seemed like a very appropriate illustration of any<\/i> standup, not just vampire standup. I read a tweet the next day that said, \u201cYou can\u2019t laugh at the pain you can\u2019t feel,\u201d which seemed like a perfect lyric to me. I got in touch with a musician friend of mine, Ruby, who suggested that the song was really about shared vulnerability. This reminded me of Ernest Hemingway\u2018s famous quote, \u201cWriting is easy. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.\u201d With this in mind, I started writing. My first take on \u201cBleed With Me\u201d was in the style of Ani DiFranco, which you can hear in the recording of Iteration 1:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
