In the universe of the Long Night Games, <\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

the winter is different.<\/p>\n

The stars, for one thing. All of the constellations have different shapes and strange names. And the moons \u2014 nobody can agree on how many there are \u2014 wax and wane on their own mysterious schedule.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the way the air feels. Everything crisper, a little more charged, with flickers of motion at the edge of your vision that disappear when you turn to look.<\/p>\n

Standing in your regular kitchen, stirring regular soup, you might wonder why that matters. Tasting for salt, you might even ask out loud: \u201cWhat does any of that have to do with me?\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

That\u2019s when you hear the train whistle in the distance \u2014 like an answer, like an invitation.<\/p>\n

The trains around here haven\u2019t run for years. <\/p>\n

And then, faintly, a coyote howls back. <\/p>\n

Coyote?! Surely not a coyote. There aren\u2019t any coyotes in these parts… are there?<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe not in your regular town, in a regular winter.<\/p>\n

But this is the Long Night Games. <\/p>\n
